Gold Award for Glasgow Clyde College Website

by Laura MacDonald

The user really does know best - as proven by Glasgow Clyde College earlier this month at the College Development Network (CDN) Marketing Awards, scooping up the Gold Students’ Award for Website!

The CDN Marketing Awards are a key date for the Educational sector in Scotland. The awards celebrate the exceptional achievements of colleges using innovative marketing across the year to help improve their services and engagement with students.

For Glasgow Clyde College the award win comes fresh off the back of their new site, developed by tictoc digital, launched in January earlier this year. The award was voted for by students with judges highly commending the site for its clear user-driven focus, use of vibrant design and rich content.

GCC new site

Working with Glasgow Clyde College on their new website, tictoc identified the key objectives were to design a mobile-first experience, with a focus on helping users to easily find information and achieve their end goals effectively. Due to the complex nature of Further Education audiences, our experience dictated that navigation would be a key element in the success of the site. The clean, bold and colourful design kept content engaging as well as intuitive to the user, without sacrificing accessibility. It was also imperative that the website fully integrated with the college’s management system, to improve the user experience and reduce administration. We also worked closely with Glasgow Clyde College to help create engaging copy throughout key areas of the site.

As an agency, we are delighted with the outcome of the awards - our innovative approach to user-driven design has been reinforced by the award win.
